Ti-Cul Tougas (1976)
TI-CUL TOUGAS aka Le Bout de la Vie - Jean-Guy Noël, 1976, Canada, 1h24.
Le public québecois, dans les années '70, était visiblement friand d'histoires de petites frappes, de losers sympathiques, de criminels du dimanche et de "petit monde". Le cinéma populaire de l'époque regorge d'odes aux bums, et TI-CUL TOUGAS en représente l'exemple-type.
C'est l'histoire d'Odette (Micheline Lanctôt) et Rémi (Claude Maher), deux employés d'une fanfare qui volent la paie de leurs confrères et partent se cacher aux Îles-de-la-Madeleine quelques jours avant de partir en Californie. Odette est secrétaire-trésorière, et Rémi première trompette. Ça discute, ça se promène en moto, l'intrigue s'embourbe, des personnages secondaires interviennent, et ça parle de quitter pour la Californie sans que jamais personne ne lève le petit doigt pour partir.
Bien que le récit ne progresse pas très rapidement, c'est un petit film sympa tourné dans un décor enchanteur auquel on a affaire. On ne comprend toujours pas pourquoi Micheline Lanctôt est supposée être une femme fatale qui se pogne un p'tit jeune, mais on a droit à un Gilbert Sicotte pré Les Dames de Coeur, qui joue un amusant simplet stoner.
Reste Claude Maher, un visage atypique, qui joue la petite frappe à belle gueule, la bouche constamment entrouverte, la dentition douteuse, et le manteau de cuir brun à franges. "Comic relief" involontaire.
